Firas shamsan
Firas Shamsan is a Yemeni media professional and filmmaker, as well as a social media content producer focusing on peace culture. He serves as a board member of the French-speaking PEN Center in Switzerland and a delegate at the Writers in Prison Committee of PEN International. He co-authored “Berührung hat Gedächtnis Begegnung mit Lyrik aus dem Jemen” in collaboration with Ilham Manea and artwork by the Swiss artist Dr. Esther Herschi. As a guest writer in Bern, Switzerland, he is a specialist in cultural development with extensive experience in culture and media in Arab and international channels. He has contributed to joint literary publications, including the book by the Swiss German PEN Center “One Way Ticket. Reise ohne Rückkehr”. He was awarded Best Short Documentary Film and was nominated for Best Documentary Short at the “Indie Short Fest” of the Los Angeles International Film Festival. He was also a finalist for Best Human Rights Film at the Vancouver Independent Film Festival in Canada.
